Cause Analysis of Magnetic Coupling Demagnetization

Magnetic coupling is a relatively new type of coupling, and degaussing is the cause of its relatively easy damage. Once degaussing occurs, many people may be helpless, which may cause a lot of losses to work and production. In order to avoid this situation, today we will briefly explain why the magnetic coupling is demagnetized when it is used.

Too high temperature and dry rotation of magnetic coupling are the direct factors causing demagnetization. If the temperature is too high, there are many reasons. If the flow rate is too low or the outlet valve is closed for too long during operation, the temperature of the medium inside the pump will become higher, the lubrication of the pump bearings will become worse, and the temperature will become higher. The shaft sleeve will also be damaged after a long time.

Other reasons for degaussing:

1. The internal cooling/lubricating pipes will be blocked by dirt, which will cause the temperature of the internal and external magnetic cylinders to increase rapidly, which may lead to loss of excitation;

2. Cleaning is not paid attention to during maintenance, and iron filings are absorbed on the inner magnet, causing wear through of the isolation sleeve;

3. The axial clearance between the inner rotor and the isolation sleeve is too small, causing friction and loss of excitation.

4. The thrust bearing is worn, causing friction between the inner rotor and the spacer sleeve

The magnetic pump cannot operate for a long time under some working conditions, such as evacuation, cavitation, high temperature, etc. Therefore, attention should be paid to avoid the occurrence of pump idling and too high temperature.
